Privacy Policy

PDF Manager is a set of PDF tools that run entirely on your phone. This policy explains what information the app handles, what stays on your device, what is shared with the service providers that power ads, purchases and crash reports, and the choices you have.

The short version

• Your files never leave your device. Every tool (view, merge, split, compress, lock, unlock, rotate, sign, watermark, scan, convert and the rest) runs on your phone. We never upload, see, store or share your documents, their contents, their names, their passwords or your signatures.
• There is no account. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number.
• The free version shows ads. Google's AdMob service shows them and uses device identifiers to do so. If you are in a region that requires it, you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
• PDF Manager Pro removes ads. Purchases go through Google Play. We use RevenueCat to confirm them. We never see your payment details.
• Crash reports help us fix problems. They contain technical details only, never your files, and you can turn them off in Settings.
• Usage analytics are off unless you turn them on in Settings.

1. Information that stays on your device

To work, the app keeps some information in its own private storage on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else:

• Your documents. Files you open are read from where they are; files the app creates are saved to Downloads/PDF Manager on your phone. Temporary copies (for example, a decrypted copy of a password-protected PDF while you view it) are kept in the app's private cache and removed afterwards.
• Page previews. Small preview images of pages, kept in the app's cache so your files list loads quickly. You can clear them in Settings → Clear preview cache.
• App history and preferences. Your recent documents, where you stopped reading, which tools you use most (to arrange the Home screen), pinned tools, your theme and list settings.
• Drafts and saved signatures. Text you are writing in Text → PDF, and a signature or initials you chose to "Save for later". They stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app.
• Signatures from a photo. When you add a signature from a photo, the photo is cleaned up on your phone (paper removed, cropped to the ink) and is never uploaded. The original photo is not kept. If you choose "Save for later", only the cleaned-up signature image is kept in the app's private storage until you tap Forget, replace it, or uninstall the app; otherwise it is kept in the app's cache only while you work and deleted the next time the app starts.
• Ad and purchase status. Whether you have PDF Manager Pro (so ads stay off while the app is offline), and simple counters that limit how often ads appear.

Passwords you type to open, lock or unlock a PDF are used only for that operation and are never saved.

This app data is excluded from Android backups, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app. Files you saved to Downloads/PDF Manager are yours and stay on your phone until you delete them.

2. Permissions

• Internet and network state: used only for ads, purchases, crash reports, settings updates and (if you turn them on) analytics. No tool needs a connection, and your files are never sent over it.
• Storage (Android 12 and older only): to list the PDFs already on your phone. It is requested once, with an explanation, and you can say no. Android 13 and later don't need it.
• Photos: Images → PDF and Sign (signature from a photo) use Android's Photo Picker, which gives the app only the photos you choose. No photo permission is requested.
• Camera: not requested. Scan uses Google's document scanner, which runs in Google Play services (see section 3.4).
• Advertising ID and ad services permissions: used by the ads SDK (section 3.1).
• Billing: used by Google Play to process PDF Manager Pro purchases.
• Vibration: for small touch feedback.

3. Information shared with service providers

We use the following providers. Each processes information under its own privacy policy, linked below. None of them receives your documents, their contents, file names or passwords, and we do not pass any document information to them (for example, we never use file names or text to target ads).

3.1 Google AdMob (ads, free version only)

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects:

• device identifiers, including your device's advertising ID and the app set ID;
• your IP address, from which an approximate location (such as city or country) may be inferred;
• device and app information (such as model, operating system version, screen size, language and app version);
• interactions with ads (such as views and taps).

Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other regions where it is required (including certain US states), Google's consent form is shown before any ad is requested. If you don't consent, you may still see ads, but they are not personalised to you. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone).

Ads are rated for general audiences, and the app is not directed to children.

If you have PDF Manager Pro, the ads SDK is not started and no ad requests are made.

3.2 Google Play and RevenueCat (purchases)

PDF Manager Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment; we never receive your card or payment details.

We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases and to know whether Pro is active on your device. RevenueCat receives:

• a random identifier created for this installation of the app (not linked to your name or email);
• your purchase history for PDF Manager (product, purchase and expiry dates, and Google Play's purchase token);
• basic device and app information (such as operating system version, app version, country/currency of the store and IP address).

3.3 Firebase (crash reports, settings updates and optional analytics)

We use Google's Firebase services:

• Crashlytics (crash reports). If the app crashes, it sends a report with technical details: the crash trace, device model, operating system version, app version, free memory and disk space, and a random installation identifier. Reports never include your documents, file names or passwords. This is on by default; you can turn it off in Settings → Send crash reports.
• Remote Config (settings updates). The app downloads a small set of settings from us (for example, how often ads may appear), using a random installation identifier.
• Analytics (usage statistics). Off by default. Only if you turn on Settings → Share usage analytics, the app sends anonymous usage events (for example, which screens and tools are opened, and app version and device type). Analytics is configured not to collect the advertising ID, and it never receives your files or file names. You can turn it off again at any time.

3.4 Google document scanner (Scan)

Scan uses Google's ML Kit document scanner, which runs inside Google Play services on your phone. Scanned pages are processed on your device and returned to PDF Manager; they are not sent to us. 4. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

• show ads in the free version and measure them;
• confirm purchases and turn ads off for PDF Manager Pro;
• find and fix crashes and problems;
• adjust how often ads appear without releasing a new version; and
• if you turned on analytics, understand which features are used so we can improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, allowing Google to show personalised ads counts as "sharing" or "targeted advertising"; you can opt out through Settings → Privacy choices (where offered in your region) and your phone's ad settings.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users): consent, for personalised ads and analytics; our legitimate interests, for non-personalised ads, fraud prevention, crash reports and settings updates; and performance of a contract, for purchases.

5. Retention

• Information on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
• Analytics data (only if you turned it on) is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics settings: 2 months, and never more than 14 months.
• Purchase records are kept by Google Play and RevenueCat for as long as needed to provide Pro, handle refunds and meet legal and tax obligations.
• Ad data is kept by Google as described in its privacy policy.

6. Your choices and rights

• Ads: change your consent in Settings → Privacy choices; reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings; or remove ads with PDF Manager Pro.
• Crash reports and analytics: turn them on or off in Settings.
• Local data: clear page previews in Settings; clear a Text → PDF draft by deleting its text; remove a saved signature or initials with Forget in the signature pad; or uninstall the app to remove all app data.
• Subscriptions: manage or cancel in Google Play (Settings → Manage subscription).

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we have no account system and don't hold your name or contact details, most information is tied only to random identifiers on your device; the in-app choices above are the quickest way to act on it. For anything else, contact us at support@indibuys.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Children

PDF Manager is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

8. Security

Your documents are processed on your device and not transmitted. Information sent to our service providers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). PDFs you lock are protected with AES-256 encryption.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. They use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or on this page.
